Descrição:Pseudoerythromycin A enol ether (PSEA) is an analog of erythromycin and has been used as a predictive model for the diagnosis of urinary tract infections. It is used in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by E. coli, Proteus mirabilis, Enterococcus faecalis, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. PSEA is an acidic compound that reacts with water to form hydroxyethyl pseudo-erythromycine (HEPE). HEPE can be detected in human urine following dehydration, which may be due to its reaction rate with water at pH 5.5-6.0. PSEA has also been used as a reagent for the detection of alkynyl group and ethyl group in liquid chromatography methods.br>br>
