Descrição:Thiamphenicol is a synthetic antimicrobial agent that is used to treat infections caused by gram-negative bacteria. It has a broad spectrum of activity, including the treatment of chlamydia and other sexually transmitted infections. Thiamphenicol has been shown to be effective in treating infectious diseases such as bronchitis, maxillary sinusitis and bacterial gastroenteritis. It is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed after administration to its active form, chloramphenicol succinate. The pharmacokinetic properties of thiamphenicol are determined by serum levels and renal function.
