It has been shown to be active against Gram positive bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis. Camedon is an antiviral drug that belongs to the group of interferons and has been shown to be active against a wide range of viruses from different families. Camedon inhibits the synthesis of viral proteins, which are essential for the replication of viruses in cells. The activity index (AI) of Camedon against hepatitis B virus (HBV) is 0.6-0.8, while AI values against influenza A virus and vesicular stomatitis virus are 0.3-0.4 and 0.2-0.3, respectively.
