Peptides

Peptides are short chains of amino acids linked by peptide bonds, serving as important biological molecules that play key roles in cellular processes. They function as hormones, neurotransmitters, and signaling molecules, and are widely used in therapeutic and diagnostic applications. Peptides are also crucial in research for studying protein interactions, enzyme activities, and cell signaling pathways. At CymitQuimica, we provide a diverse selection of high-quality peptides to support your research and development needs in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

  • m-dPEG®24-Propionaldehyde

    CAS:
m-dPEG®24-Propionaldehyde is a PEG compound with two different functional groups (also known as heterobifunctional). Unlike homobifunctional PEG compounds (same functional group on both ends), this type of compounds are more versatile as have two different anchor points. m-dPEG®24-Propionaldehyde is used as a linker and spacer to add a PEG moiety, via pegylation (a bioconjugation technique) to proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, small molecules and nanoparticles.

  • ACV trifluoroacetate salt

    CAS:
ACV trifluoroacetate salt H-Aad (Cys-D-Val-OH)-OH trifluoroacetate salt is a nonheme iron that has been shown to be an oxidizing agent. It is used in the synthesis of antibiotics and other organic compounds. ACV trifluoroacetate salt H-Aad (Cys-D-Val-OH)-OH trifluoroacetate salt also has synthetase activity, which catalyzes the formation of a thiolate ligand from two molecules of acetyl coenzyme A (ACCOA) and one molecule of propionyl coenzyme A (PCCOA). This ligand binds to metal ions such as Fe2+, which are then reduced to Fe3+ by the metal cluster. The water ligands on the coordination sphere may be replaced by other ligands, such as lysine.

  • Ac-DRVYIHPF-OH

Angiotensin II plays an essential role in the maintenance of blood pressure and blood volume. It is a peptide hormone that causes vasoconstriction, a sensation of thirst, and stimulation of the adrenal cortex and aldosterone. Derived from the cleavage of angiotensin I by the angiotensin converting enzyme, angiotensin II is involved in the renin-angiotensin system (RAS). Angiotensin II is the subject of much scientific research and is already the target of many anti-hypertensive drugs (ACE inhibitors, ARBs or AT1 receptor antagonists). Involvement in Covid-19 : The Sars-CoV-2 responsible for Covid-19 binds to angiotensin II converting enzyme receptors to infect human cells. These receptors are found in large numbers in certain organs, so the virus can have deleterious effects: - in the nose, these receptors are numerous on the mucous membrane, resulting in the loss of the sense of smell; - In the brain, these receptors are present in the cortex and brain stem and affected patients suffer from convulsions, confusion and inflammation of the brain; - The virus would also enter via these receptors into the heart and the cells lining the blood vessels. This causes arrhythmia and clotting, which can lead to pulmonary embolism or stroke. Involvement in Alzheimer’s disease : Studies have shown that patients treated with ARBs were less likely to get the disease. And their condition was less severe if they did get it.
